Abstract
This paper analyzes the “Acequia de la Ciudad” from Landscape Archeology to assess the importance of historical irrigation systems in the formation of cultural water landscapes in the territory of Guadix. To study irrigation as an archaeological site, we have mapped the irrigation ditch to find out what relationship it has with the foundation of the Wadi As medina and how has its evolution been until today through a diachronic and retrospective analysis emphasizing its multiple facets such as its layout, materials or management.
